On Wednesday after checking out of our hotel, we met with my former Avnet coworker and friend Judy and her husband Rick in Chagrin Falls, OH. What a lovely and quaint little town. We spent some time photographing the falls then had lunch at a local diner called Rick’s. Great food and great company! I look forward to visiting again and seeing their house after the renovation is complete in the next year. After we parted ways, John worked a little bit at a coffee shop while I walked around taking some urban photos.
We made a last stop at my parent’s house for chocolate cream pie from the Amish restaurant then said our goodbyes before leaving on the backcountry roads towards Interstate 77 to Ripley, WV. We had very heavy rain most of the three hour trip, but as I prayed that the sky would clear before we arrived at our exit, miraculously the rain did slow down considerably about two miles from the exit. John and I just looked at each other like what just happened.
After meeting my friend Tammy at the exit, we had dinner at Bob Evans then drinks at Cozumel’s. Of course, she had to bring a photo album with her, mostly a collection of photos from our junior and senior years in high school. We laughed and reminisced about our younger days and talked about what has been going on recently. I was very happy to know all of her children were honor students with one in college already. I’ll pray everything works out with her job and possibly impending strike. Tammy is one of the strongest women I know with a great sense of humor. After parting ways late in the night, John and I set out to find a hotel room. Most of the hotels were booked in town, but we did find a room at Ripley’s Quality Inn...2 double beds and smoking...ICK! But it worked.
